IRS SEEKS TO SILENCE LOCAL WICHITA CHURCH'S FREE SPEECH AND SERMONS |

Leading up to recent events, Spirit One has ALWAYS taken a firm stand against abortion. The fact that our local and state government not only allow mass murder of unborn infants, but support it. See how the rest of the world views our state by watching the O'Reiley viedo left.

IRS to church: Shut up.
Church to IRS: No way
Pastor under investigation says he 'will not stop preaching God's word'

A Christian church in Kansas has told the Internal Revenue Service that it will not stop teaching and preaching God's Word, "even if it relates to contemporary issues in the world," after the federal agency demanded answers to 31 questions about its beliefs and warned about "political" activity.
Spirit One Christian Center Pastor Mark Holick told WND that the IRS, perhaps, should brush up on the freedoms assured U.S. citizens regarding religion and speech before making such demands in the future.

An announcement about the IRS crackdown on moral statements by the church |
He said the issues the church addressed – and will continue to address – concern issues that the Bible addresses, such as killing and protecting the defenseless.
The response came to a series of questions from the IRS questioning whether the church was involved in "political" activity. In specific, Holick said, the IRS cited a sign that read: "Sebelius accepted $300,000.00 from abortionist Tiller, price of 1000 babies."
But that, he said, was just part of a responsibility on the part of a Christian church to comment on abortion, a red-hot topic in the church's home city of Wichita.
That's also the location of the abortion business of George Tiller, whose political connections in Kansas have been documented.

(Court Throws Out Decency Standards Article preceeds the IRS section) Church Stands Up To IRS Intimidation
In response to an investigation by the Internal Revenue Service, a Wichita church has thrown down the gauntlet. While it does not engage in political activity prohibited by federal law, the Spirit One Christian Center "will not stop communicating its Biblical message, even if it relates to contemporary issues in the world," Pastor Mark Holick told the IRS.
The agency demanded that the church provide detailed answers to 31 questions about its beliefs and practices, and cautioned it about engaging in "political" activities.
Liberals inside and outside government (especially Americans United for Separation of Church and State) are determined to crush the free speech and religious freedom rights of conservative churches.
But thank God there are men of God like Pastor Holick who are willing to stand up for the Bible and the Constitution. Vision America salutes the Spirit One Christian Center and would be honored to stand with it as it stands up to the federal bullies.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

IRS SEEKS TO SILENCE LOCAL WICHITA
CHURCH'S FREE SPEECH AND SERMONS
On April 20, 2007 the IRS sent an “inquiry” letter to Spirit One Christian Center ( 1515 E. Harry St ., Wichita, KS, 67211) stating that, “a reasonable belief exists that your organization has engaged in political activities…”
They cited our church marquee signs. In specific a sign we put up which read, “Sebelius accepted $300,000.00 from abortionist Tiller, price of 1000 babies.”
The IRS has turned a Gestapo, speech police, that says if your Christian, there are some things you can not say or preach.
The 1 st amendment of the Constitution is a respected and renowned oracle celebrated all over the nations of the world. It is quite specific and clear; Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press…
This is the IRS blatantly limiting the free exorcise of our sincerely held Christian and religious beliefs in the sanctity of life. Even those who disagree with our Christian beliefs should find this bully action by the IRS deplorable.
In addition, I am pretty sure “no law” means…well…no law.
PRESS CONFERENCE
A Press Conference will be held tomorrow, Friday, June 1 st , at 11:00 a.m. at Spirit One Christian Center , 1515 E. Harry St. , Wichita , Kansas (under the Marquee in question)
Contact: Pastor Mark E. Holick, Spirit One Christian Center , 316.303.0095 office, 316.303.0286 fax, 316.722.5353 home, pastor@spiritonecc.org e-mail
In addition, last night on the O'Reilly Factor, they exposed (which many of us have know for many years) that Kansas Governor Sebelius is in political bed with abortionist George Tiller.
To see the 8 minute video clip click the link below;
VIEW THE VIDEO HERE.
In it Bill O'Reilly said, "Kansas is a great state, but this is a disgrace upon everyone who lives in Kansas."
He also said, "Sebelius is protecting him (Tiller)."
"This kind of barbaric display diminishes our country."
"How don't know how she (Sebelius) sleeps at night."
"No doubt Tiller has blood on his hands and now so does Sebelius."
"I would not want to be them (Sebelius and Kansas politicians) on judgment day."
"I didn't see any outcry from the Kansas press of by the people of Kansas."
Well, we the saints of Spirit One have been crying out for years and years. Now, because we have done so the IRS has launched
an investigation into us for "political" activity. This is not political activity it is the Truth of the Gospel and of our Lord activity.
It is loving our unborn neighbor as ourselves. |

Re: Spirit One Christian Center, Inc. (“Spirit One”)
This letter is in response to your letter dated April 20, 2007, in which you requested certain information concerning Spirit One. Below, we have responded to each of your questions specifically.
- Please provide a complete and detailed description of the relationship among Spirit One Christian Center, Operation Save America, Kansans for Life, and Pastor Mark Holick. Describe the activities and purposes of each organization in detail.
Answer - Spirit One is a church, whose purpose is to (1) serve the Lord Jesus of whom every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that He is Lord, (2) lead people to the Lord, (3) make disciples, and (4) be men and women of the Lord. Pastor Mark Holick was the founder of Spirit One, and has been its pastor for 16 years. Spirit One is very committed to communicating God's message on life, including the sin of abortion. Kansans for Life is a Catholic pro-life organization. Mark Holick has personally been involved with Kansans for Life over the last 30 years by participating in some of their activities. However, there is no relationship between Spirit One and Kansans for Life. Operation Save America is a non-Catholic pro-life organization. Mark Holick has been involved in OSA in a leadership capacity, organizing events in the Wichita area. There is no relationship between Spirit One and OSA....Read More

In response to Eagle's, Sat., Nov.
4th article "Power of Faith,"
the Eagle quoted our church marquee
sign that reads, " Abortionist Tiller has given $300,000.00 to
Sebelius. Price of 1,000 babies."
And "Morrison accepts blood money
from abortionist Tiller. How many babies?
The
Eagle reported that the Sebelius and Morrison campaigns, "say
the
sign is untrue." That, "The governor has never received money
from ProKanDo and has not a single donations from Dr.Tiller in her
race for governor," spokeswoman Nicole Corcoran said. "These
claims are totally false and made-up numbers. It is unfortunate
they're trying to mislead Kansans."
In addition, the Kansas
legislature passed a bill for campaign finance reform,
specifically in the reporting of campaign contributions. Sebelius
vetoed it. I wonder why?
And I wonder if it is because of
the Eagle's pro-abortion support that
it would allow Morrison and
Sebelius to get away with
such blatant and easily checked
deceptions.
In Christ Jesus,
Pastor Mark E. Holick,

Abortion protests reveal truth but lack discretion

BY JEFF
SYRIOS |
| |
|
|
There has been a lot of rhetoric regarding the propriety of using
posters with graphic images of aborted babies at pro-life
demonstrations and rallies.
Those against the use of such images argue they misrepresent the
truth by failing to communicate the context and circumstances
accompanying the abortion. Additionally, the shock and emotional
reaction divert attention from the real issue, which is a woman's
right to control her body...article |

Mr. Syrios, I read your article in the Eagle today. You were quite critical of us and our use of abortion pictures. I would like to meet with you to discuss it if you are willing.
You said, 1. "Truth lies somewhere in-between,....
Response:
1. Truth is never grey...never 'lies somewhere in-between." Jesus is God, Jesus is the Word (Jn. 1) and the Word is Truth. God is unchanging, therefore truth is unchanging. This statement is a statement of moral relativism. The atheistic, Godless, moral less Wichita Eagle was so overjoyed that you said it, that they 'pull quoted it." How sad....article |
